Ride for Dad

North Bay (Nipissing) Ride for Dad - June 18th, 2011

The 2010 Nipissing Ride for Dad was a huge success! 250 riders participated and $2500.00 was raised. Most, if not all individuals who had a hand in organizing the day and those who participated in the event, rode or walked away with a sense of accomplishment I'm sure. The smiling faces and plentifully excited waves and welcomes spoke volumes where the gratitude is concerned.
People met at the Canadian Tire Store on McKeown Ave. in North Bay and we rode all the way to the waterfront, where we were given instructions as to where the stops for the poker run were. The ride was nice, although the sky was somewhat cloudy, the sun did manage to peek out between them often, and the rain held out with the exception of a few drops here and there. One of our own won with the best poker hand, but I will let her tell you all about it...CONGRATULATIONS HELENE! By the end of that day, I'm sure most of us were looking forward to putting our head down on the pillow to get a well deserved night's sleep. This is yet another experience I have had the privilege to live with the Star group and wholeheartedly appreciate it! Awesome day, great cause...goal accomplished! Thank you to all who had a hand in helping make the event possible. No small task and massive rewards on so many different levels! Congratulations!
